Newcastle fans welcome Spurs to St James Park on the opening day of the season.

The game currently scheduled for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 12 August, though live TV games for August and September are due to be announced early July.

Before the fixtures were announced though, little doubt that Newcastle fans who regularly travel away would have been looking to see when the Spurs away match would be.

Whilst their new stadium is being developed, Tottenham have been given permission to play all Premier League home games at Wembley next season.

No matter the size of the stadium, PL clubs are only obliged to give away teams at least 3,000 tickets, unless their stadium is under 30,000 capacity, when it has to be at least 10% of the capacity.

So even though Wembley holds around 90,000, Newcastle fans were left wondering just how many spaces would be made available.

Monday has brought good news, with Spurs confirming that Premier League away fans will receive around 6,000 tickets.

These will be in sections 112-119 at the East and South East area(s), on the bottom tier.

The Spurs v Newcastle match is currently due to be played on Saturday 17 March, so fingers crossed that this doesn’t change and make travelling plans more tricky than necessary.

(NB Tottenham, later on Monday, admit they made a mistake, away fans will only be given 3,000 tickets)

Quite frankly if Mike Ashley is still the boss come next April you will be lucky if you are not already relegated or at least in grave danger of being so.
