Newcastle duo and England into U20 World Cup Final – Dramatic win over Italy
Freddie Woodman has put in another inspirational performance in South Korea, his display helping to send England into the final of the Under 2os World Cup.
Thursday’s match kicked off at 12 noon UK time and Freddie Woodman started, whilst Adam Armstrong was named amongst the subs as England took on Italy.
Beaten after only two minutes by Andrea Favilli, Woodman and his England teammates showed great character in fighting back.
In a highly competitive match, the Young Lions went close on a number of occasions before Domic Solanke at last equalised on 66 minutes, Ademola Lookman then gave England a deserved 77th minute lead, before two minutes from time Solanke added another.
Newcastle keeper Freddie Woodman proving once again one of the stars of the tournament, whilst Adam Armstrong remained on the bench.
