When it comes to the all-time top England Under 21 goalscorers, Newcastle United are well represented.

In the top 11, there are four players who once pulled on the black and white of NUFC.

No surprise to see a certain Alan Shearer at the very top, scoring 13 goals for the Under 21s before moving on to the senior team, level with Shearer is former Everton striker Francis Jeffers.

In fifth place we have one-time NUFC winger James Milner.

He scored nine times for the Under 21s and also holds the all-time playing record for them, appearing 46 times (Steven Taylor played 29 times and is joint seventh top when it comes to appearances.

Down in eighth place of the top England Under 21 goalscorers is Carl Cort, the former Newcastle striker grabbing eight goals.

Then finally at number 11, we have Shola Ameobi!

Agreeing a new contract on Tuesday that will take him past his 36th birthday at Notts County, Shola scored seven times for the England Under 21s.

Former Sunderland forward Darren Bent also makes it into this top 11.
