The final EFL Team of the week has been named and one of Newcastle United’s title winners from Sunday has made the starting eleven.

Newcastle made it three wins out of three and that enough to end up top, as Brighton picked up only one point from a possible last nine.

A trademark performance saw DeAndre Yedlin bombing forward at every opportunity and when Christian Atsu played him in, a great low ball from Yedlin was finished off by Ayoze Perez to open the scoring.

Sharing the full-back slot with Vurnon Anita, the USA international has made 21 Championship starts and six appearances off the bench.

A very good first season at St James Park, with his pace the defender has a real chance of making the step up to the Premier League, especially if he can add extra composure to his game.

DeAndre Yedlin named in the EFL team of the week (full 11 listed below), with their official website stating:

Newcastle were crowned champions in a thrilling Sky Bet Championship on Sunday afternoon, but there wasn’t too much drama on the St James Park pitch.

“Yedlin was an attacking threat throughout the Magpies’ 3-0 win over Barnsley, setting up the goal that put them on their way, and he also made a crucial block in the second half to deny the Tykes.”
