Barnsley update on ticket sales for Newcastle

Newcastle v Barnsley on Sunday as the Championship season comes to an end.

Brighton are away at Aston Villa and NUFC have to pick up more points than Chris Hughton’s team to finish top.

Newcastle fans quickly bought up all tickets that went on sale in the home sections, whilst Barnsley have had two increases in their initial allocation as United supporters waited to see whether any away places would remain unsold and become available to home fans.

Wednesday lunchtime has seen Barnsley confirm that all tickets they were sent, have now been sold.

Their three allocations added up to 2,789 tickets and these have all gone, despite the visitors having nothing to play for.

That total is just over 400 less than the maximum away allocation, so it remains to be seen whether these tickets go on sale to Newcastle supporters now, or whether they were already amongst the tickets already sold in the initial sale.

Barnsley Official Statement:

“We have no more tickets remaining for this Sunday’s final game of the season.

“Hecky’s lads to be backed by sell-out Reds crowd at St James Park!

“The total allocation of 2,789 tickets have been snapped up as supporters head to the North East to cheer on Paul Heckingbottom’s side for the final time this season.

“If fans want to leave us their details in case of any returns, please contact us via telephone.”
