Newcastle United were represented at the recent Senegal v Nigeria friendly according to reports on Wednesday.

The game finished 1-1 and was played in front of only 2,013 fans at Barnet’s Hive Stadium last month.

A number of African countries at times choosing to play their friendlies in Europe as that is where so many of their players, especially high profile/better ones, are based.

All Nigeria Soccer report that along with Premier League clubs Manchester United, West Brom and Crystal Palace, Newcastle had a scouting presence at the game.

The Nigerian media report suggesting four players that clubs were likely to be watching:

Moses Simon (Plays for Gent in Belgium)

Wilfred Ndidi (Plays for Leicester)

Eddy Onazi (Plays for Trabzonspor in Turkey)

Oghenekaro Etebo (Plays for CD Feirense in Portugal)

 

As well as English clubs, the friendly also attracted representatives from Besiktas, CSKA Moscow and Standard Liege.
