Cardiff 0 Newcastle 2  – Friday 28 April 7.45pm

Elliott – 8

A solid performance and made a few good saves.

I feel a lot safer with him in between the sticks compared with Darlow and Sels. Out of the current crop of goalkeepers at NUFC (Tim Krul included) he is probably favourite to start next season as the number one.

Yedlin – 7

Offered a lot going forward and defensively solid for once. Although Cardiff did not really offer much going forward.

Mbemba – 7

Another one who looked calm and solid against a weak Cardiff frontline. Can only play against what is put in front of you.

Clark – 7

Mr Consistent this season and he was brilliant again tonight. Does not get enough credit for how good he is on the ball either!

Dummett – 8

Although a left-back will be on the shopping list this summer, Dummett has really put a claim forward to be starting in the Premier League next season based on his from since January.

Solid again tonight and looking more confident going forward.

Colback – 8

One of his better performances of the season. Solid in the midfield and looked calm in the ball.

One of a few players who will have to play well again next week against Barnsley to stake his claim for the summer.

Hayden – 9

A great goal and a great all round performance. He bossed the midfield. Potential to have a big future at NUFC.

Perez – 8

After a much improved performance against Preston, he improved again tonight and was a menace to the Cardiff backline.

Diame – 7

Like Colback, one his better performances this season. Will it be enough for him to stick around in the summer? Who knows.

Atsu – 9

If tonight was an audition for a permanent contract in the summer then he passed with flying colours. Man of the Match. Brilliant Free-Kick.

Murphy – 6

A quiet game and he did not offer much going forward. Big chance for Mitro next week.

Mitrovic – 5

A low five might seem harsh considering he was only on for 25 minutes but he has to start showing soon that he is good enough… should have taken his chance when through on goal.

Next week could be make or break for his NUFC future.

With promotion guaranteed and the pressure off…it was nice to see Newcastle play some good football.

Other subs not on long enough.
