Not the biggest shock in the world that Neil Warnock has blamed the referee rather than praising Newcastle United, after defeat on Friday night.

The Cardiff boss says that there was nothing wrong with the ‘goal’ scored by Sean Morrison.

Christian Atsu won a free-kick and scored a beautiful goal when taking it himself…but Neil Warnock says the free-lick should never have been given.

As for Mitrovic, Warnock says he continually fouled when coming on as a sub but got away with it.

Summing up referee Graham Scott’s performance, the Cardiff Manager he was ‘poor in general with his positioning and interpretation’.

Not content with blaming just Friday night’s referee, Warnock also blames former ref Mike Riley for allegedly teaching Graham Scott these bad habits.

Classic! It actually adds to the result that the idiot doesn’t want to give Newcastle any credit at all!!

Neil Warnock:

“I thought we had some good chances and finishing those is what you pay for, I’m trying to get more goals in the team, that’s what I’m looking for in the summer.

“I thought we were a bit unlucky, I didn’t see anything wrong with Morrison’s header, it’s a very soft foul.

“If you look at the free-kick he gave for their first goal, it’s a nothing free-kick. We have to start educating players what to do when you get a referee like that.

“I thought ‘Scotty’ (the referee Graham Scott) had a bad game today, he was poor in general with his positioning and interpretation.

Mitrovic came on and never looked at the ball once, he fouled Morrison three-times and he didn’t see it – why? Because he’s not educated.

“There is no wonder, if Mike Riley’s his tutor, no wonder.”

PLONKER. He never mentioned the two penalties we should have had or that they should have been down to ten men, but he was correct about one thing the Ref was abysmal yet again.

  • anyobrien

Once a tool alaways a tool.

  • Big Al 1967

Would totally agree the referee was poor last night. Failure to give us 2 stonewall penalties and allowing one of theirs to stay on the pitch for a shocking lunge on Atsu!!
Warnock always looks to deflect blame elsewhere instead of looking in the mirror. If it was not for the referee the defeat would have been a lot heavier.
The only thing I would say Warnock got right was the incompetence of Mike Riley.

  • Wor Lass

What a truly horrible human being Warnock is! This is the man who sent his number 2 to listen through the keyhole to a Burnley half-time talk and who encouraged his own players to feign injury/get sent off to try and get a game stopped. If he wants to blame anyone for the defeat he needs to start with his own forwards who couldn`t hit a barn door from point blank range. He was certainly right about the ref – we would have been playing against 10 men and two pens better off if he`d been any good.

    • gallowgate26

Agree with you about the forwards. It could have been 3-2 to the home side if we’d been playing anyone half decent. We didn’t play well, just better than them.

But at the end of 90 mins, it’s the ones that go in that count.

  • Hughie_Gallacher

A really suspect character. Read Graham Poll’s autobiography if you don’t believe me.

The other one he mentions in the same bracket is, ahem… David Moyes.

  • tony brotherton

overrated charlatan of a manager. Not anywhere near the class of Rafa. Notice he didn’t mention the three penalties we could have had from this poor ref lol

    • Polarboy

You can’t dispute that he’s a very good championship manager. He’s a complete tw*t of course, but he’ll break the record for getting teams promoted if he ever does get another team up.

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

Mad as a Schitt house Rat

  • Polarboy

Maybe it’s just his face, but in the world of controversy that is football, I can’t help thinking he’s done some very unsavoury things over his career.

  • Leicester Mag

    Warnock really is bell end

  • Wor Monga

Can’t take the man (Warnock) seriously…he’s nothing more than an old Yorkie [email protected] with a lengthy history of bad losing and holding bitter resentment against Rafa for using his right to a tactical decision years ago…the bile was eating him up, and he spent the whole game with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp, and even turning his back on his longest, and over the years their best serving player as he left the field after being subbed…

…the referee was certainly bad…missing 2 clear cut penalties for us, and not showing red for a Cardiff player cynically taking out the legs of Atsu…but there were 2 fouls leading to their headed disallowed goal, and he didn’t miss either of them…

…2 great goals for the ‘Lads’ and some shocking misses from them, a record broken and a great supporting performance from the travelling ‘Army’ made this a really memorable occasion!!!

  • Jimblag23

I would have thought he’d get a punishment for saying that.

  • 1957

The Mike Riley comment is no surprise, he’s held a grudge since Riley disallowed a last minute equaliser for Sheffield United against West Ham in 2006. I think his comments at the time got Warnock a big fine and when Riley succeeded Keith Hackett as the referees boss I’m sure he made a comment on the lines that refereeing standards were about to get worse, with the worst official of the last 20 years in charge.

    • Whickhamrobbie

      he wasnt wrong there then.

  • Doug Dacre

Even my Cardiff mates said we were a class above, and the best team they have seen so far this season etc….What has happened to Warnocks face? Looks like an extra from a waxworks horror movie..Plakka Heed!!!

  • magpiefifer

    Warnock is a short-sighted dinosaur.

  • Son of Wilt

Classic Warnacker, it’s everyone’s fault but his, everyone else commits fouls apart from his team. Commentators blowing smoke up his jacksy – “He’s been promoted 5 times” but not completed the sentence by saying “but he got sacked the following season because they where all heading straight back down”. A Championship manager at very best, wouldn’t be surprised if he replaced Gollum at the makems next season.

  • Martin Harris

I think he is talking about a game on Mars coz they were $hit and made numerous dirty fouls maybe a great shout for toon.penalty
    He is a dickie
