Freddie Woodman was in inspired form on Wednesday night.

Rangers were the visitors and desperately trying to overhaul Aberdeen for second place.

With 19 shots to Kilmarnock’s 7 and 13 corners to 6, Rangers were well on top, only to find the Newcastle loan keeper equal to everything that they threw at him.

The game ending goalless and Woodman’s clean sheet keeping Kilmarnock in seventh place, whilst Rangers are now a massive 12 points off second place.

Freddie Woodman making a series of excellent saves (watch below) as he shows great progress thanks to regular first team football.

With 10 league starts for the Scottish Premier League side, the NUFC goalkeeper has conceded one or zero goals in seven of them, with two conceded in each of the other three – excellent form considering Kilmarnock in the bottom half of the table.

Freddie Woodman now having conceded 11 goals in 10 league matches, whilst Kilmarnock have leaked 35 in the other 21 games.

Fellow Newcastle United loan player Sean Longstaff also played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday, whilst winger Callum Roberts came on in the final seconds.
