The Newcastle scouting network is hopefully building up a head of scheme ahead of a busy summer.
RMC journalist George Quirino has revealed that Newcastle representatives attended the Luxembourg v France match on Saturday.
Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Manchester United were also in attendance.
France ran out 3-1 winners thanks to two goals from Giroud and another from Griezmann (wouldn’t be a bad signing…).
With Rafa Benitez making clear that he accepts/expects a large percentage of both senior and junior players to come from overseas, it will be interesting to see which countries the boss will target.
The assumption of many is that he will look to exploit connections back in his home country and he of course signed a number of Spanish players when at Liverpool.
Rather than a fixation with one country though, as has happened with our recent French/Dutch experiences, we can be sure that Rafa will be simply looking for quality wherever he can find it.
