Around 6,000 away supporters will now get to see Tuesday night’s match, with a free Reading v Newcastle beamback just announced.

Just under four thousand Newcastle supporters snapped up match tickets to be there in the flesh and now two thousand free ones are being made available for a screening at St James Park.

Previous beambacks saw thousands of fans enjoy the 2-0 away win at Barnsley earlier this season and the League Cup quarter-final defeat at Hull.

On both occasions Newcastle released tickets bar by bar as demand took up each extra batch of tickets.

However, it remains to be seen whether more tickets will be made available once these initial two thousand Reading ones go.

Tickets can be obtained from 10am on Friday morning, details below.

Thursday also brought news of another live match on Sky Sports, Leeds at home moved to a 7.45pm kick-off on Good Friday – full list of remaining matches below, only three of the remaining 12 games can still potentially be moved (This is almost certainly only two, as on Easter Monday Sky have also already scheduled three live Championship matches today).

Official Newcastle United announcement:

‘Newcastle United fans who missed out on tickets for the Sky Bet Championship trip to Reading can watch a free live beam back of the game at St. James’ Park on Tuesday night.

The club’s entire allocation of almost 4,000 match tickets was quickly snapped up by United supporters and with the game at the Madejski Stadium not being broadcast on television, thousands more fans were set to miss out.

Now, after acquiring a feed of the match, the club will accommodate around 2,000 additional fans for a FREE live screening inside the stadium’s NINE Bar and Terrace Bar.

Kick-off on Tuesday 7th March is at 8pm.

Entry to the beam back will be strictly by ticket only and open only to supporters aged 18 or over.

Tickets will be available from 10am on Friday 3rd March on a first come first served basis from NINE Bar at the Gallowgate End of St. James’ Park, at a maximum of four per person.

Tickets can also be ordered at tickets.nufc.co.uk or by calling 0844 372 1892 (calls cost 7p per minute plus your network access charge). Tickets ordered online and by phone are subject to a £1 booking fee per ticket.

Doors on the night will open from 5pm and supporters are advised to arrive early to secure their place.’
