Final away allocation sells out today for Newcastle v Wigan
Championship football returns on Saturday, with Newcastle v Wigan as top plays second bottom.
Earlier today, Wigan said they had been given extra tickets by Newcastle after the initial allocation had sold out.
However, we aren’t going to see a blue and white army following Gabriel Obertan back to his old club.
The relegation strugglers have announced that their bonus allocation has also quickly sold out BUT it was only 50 tickets!
Wigan Athletic say that those were the final ticket and their total travelling support will be 1,200 fans.
This means the vast majority/all of the other 2,000 seats from the usual 3,200 away allocation will be available to Newcastle fans.
Whilst the Leeds home match sold out instantly, over three weeks before the game and despite live TV coverage, it remains to be seen what attendances there are for these two key home games on Saturday and Wednesday, especially with Burton expected to bring less than 500 fans.
Wigan Official Announcement:

1,200 Latics supporters set to head to Tyneside on Saturday.

Tickets for Saturday’s trip to Newcastle United have now sold out, with no further tickets set to be made available.
After the initial allocation had sold out, an extra 50 tickets were made available and were sold almost immediately.
1,200 tickets have been purchased in advance for Latics’ first visit to St. James’ Park since December 2012.
Supporters are reminded there will be no sales on the day for the fixture with Rafa Benitez’s side.
