The Newcastle team v Fulham.

Rafa Benitez makes four changes.

Anita in for Gamez, whilst Atsu & Diame come in for Perez & Gouffran.

The big news though is that Dwight Gayle returns, with Daryl Murphy dropping to the bench.

Aleksandar Mitrovic joins him amongst the subs, having been dropped from the last two squads.

Newcastle United:

Darlow, Anita, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Ritchie, Colback, Shelvey, Atsu, Diame, Gayle

Subs:

Elliot, Hanley, Gamez, Gouffran, Perez, Murphy, Mitrovic

    That`ll do,
time for Diame to up his game & deliver instead of impersonating Moussa

    • Mrkgw

Agree Moose – quite similar that pair, and Diame needs to do just that little bit more. That said, still prefer him to the awful Sissoko.

  • Mrkgw

Good starting eleven – might have been good to see Murphy start in place of Diame but who am I to question Rafa. Fingers crossed for three points!

1 down, What a Carry On

  • Kev-82

Our home form is an absolute joke, thank god we’ve been so good on the road or we’d be lucky to even make the playoffs.

  • ToonTom

    0-2 now

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

    Shocking

  • ToonTom

    0-3

  • Leicester Mag

Well I will invite some flak. 4-3-2-1 at home is a disaster. Why give a team like Fulham who can play 70% of the possession? Rafa or no Rafa this is wrong

    • MichaelMaximusMoose

it`s the tactics, he`s to defensive at home

  • MadMag83

Embarrassing! Be glad if we don’t have to play Fulham again for a long time.

    • MichaelMaximusMoose

we`re not promoted yet so it may not be long

      • MadMag83

        Fulham might get promoted

      • Jezza

True, we are not promoted yet. We could still blow it. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we did.

    • Jezza

We could meet Fulham in the play offs, never mind next season.

  • Kev-82

‘IF’ we go up and don’t sort this home form out we will be straight back down. It’s not worked all season and Rafa still plays the same system.

  • Leicester Mag

If Dummett doesn’t end up at Hartlepool he can always move to Blackpool beach #donkey

  • Mrkgw

    Diabolical.

  • ToonTom

It sounds like (I’m never at the game so I wouldn’t know) that – at home – Rafa persists with this semi-defensive strategy, never taking the game to the opposition until we really have to (i.e., 1-0 or 2-0 down) instead of going for the jugular right from the start and getting the crowd revved up. The opposition just has to come on to us, we sit back, the crowd gets nervous, and the theme is set for the rest of the game.
