It is international time once again on the horizon and Monday morning has seen five Newcastle United players named.

Scotland play Canada at home in a friendly on Wednesday 22 March and then a World Cup qualifier against Slovenia, when they visit on Sunday 26 March.

Both Grant Hanley and Matt Ritchie have been named by Gordon Strachan in the squad.

Martin O’Neill including three of the Newcastle squad.

Fit again keeper Rob Elliot is included, whilst Daryl Murphy also gets the nod.

After having to leave the pitch with a knock on Saturday against Fulham, hopefully the inclusion of Ciaran Clark for the international squad points to there being no big injury concerns with our player of the season.

Friday 24 March sees Ireland entertain Wales in a World Cup qualifier, then it is a friendly at home to Iceland on Tuesday 28 March,
