Revealed how many tickets Bristol City have sold for Newcastle match

The Newcastle v Bristol City match is set to see yet another excellent away following at St James Park.

The West Country club have just put tickets up on general sale and revealed that over 2,300 have already been sold to season ticket holders and members.

They have an initial allocation of just over 2,800 tickets but could get another 300 from NUFC if the remaining 500 are quickly snapped up by the  general public.

The match on Saturday 25 February looks guaranteed to be sold out, or at least very close to one.

However, interesting to see what the attendance will be on Monday night at St James Park.

It will still obviously be far in excess of any other Championship club, and indeed most Premier League ones, but at the last count Villa had only sold just over a thousand tickets which leaves a couple more thousand available than is normally the case for Newcastle fans.

With Bristol City struggling only two places and three points above the drop, it makes the turnout even better.

In the match down there earlier this season, Newcastle won 1-0 thanks to a very good defensive performance and an outstanding goal on the counter-attack.

A superb assist from Mohamed Diame and then Dwight Gayle did the rest with a belter of a finish.

Bristol City official announcement:

‘Tickets for City’s visit to Newcastle United on Saturday week (February 25th, 3pm) are now on general sale.

Just over 2,300 tickets were sold during the sales periods for season card holders and Forever Bristol members.

That leaves around 500 tickets available for general sale. The club does have the option of a further 300 tickets – but this will only be issued if the remaining seats are snapped up quickly.

Table-topping Newcastle are anticipating a capacity crowd at St James’ Park for the Sky Bet Championship encounter.’
