Oxford fans are in for a real treat on Saturday.

After their defeat of Newcastle United and progress to the FA Cup fifth round, their game against MK Dons today (Saturday) has been billed as a ‘fans day’.

Oxford United thanking their supporters for getting the deserved victory that was billed as a major giantkilling act, despite Oxford being only one division lower and Rafa fielding a totally changed side.

They really know how to party down there and the centre piece of the thank you to the Oxford fans, is that each one will be presented with a free balloon when they enter the ground.

As if that wasn’t excitement enough, sounding a little like something off Phoenix Nights, there will also be a mascot race and the Oxford women’s team ‘showing off their coaching skills’.

Who knows what could be in store for the League One club’s supporters if they get past Middlesbrough and into the sixth round.

Oxford Times:

‘THEY have helped their side to victory over Newcastle United and Swindon Town in the past two weeks and tomorrow Oxford United’s fans will be thanked for their unrivalled support.

The club will mark fan’s day tomorrow as the U’s take on the MK Dons, with a range of activities planned before kick-off.

The Oxford Mail has teamed up with United and will be handing out 5,000 yellow balloons.

United’s women’s side will be showing off their coaching skills and mascots Olly, Olivia and George the Lion will be joined by some costumed friends for a mascot race at half time.

Oxford United spokesman Chris Williams:

“Fans in the Yellow Army will be helping to spread the word on social media and beyond in the build-up and have some great ideas to build excitement in the run up to the game.”
