A night of ever changing moods as Newcastle draw at Norwich and other games mess with your head
It ended Norwich 2 Newcastle 2 and NUFC stay top of the Championship but it wasn’t a night for anybody with a dodgy ticker.
With all the top six playing it was a night of ever changing fortunes as the half dozen games produced 22 goals.
If you check out the stats from Newcastle’s game in Norfolk, you will see that apart from a period of madness in the first half when Norwich were on top and Newcastle gifted two goals, it was the Magpies in the ascendancy.
Almost two thirds (63%) of the possession and two and a half times as many shots (20 v 8) tell a story, whilst the Canaries scored with two of only three shots on target.
On the other hand Newcastle scored with two of eight efforts on target and hit the woodwork a couple of times.
A night when Newcastle probably could and should have had all three points but when you head into the last 10 minutes 2-1 down away from home, you’d take a point every time.
Elsewhere, we saw Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading all losing at one point, with Chris Hughton’s team grabbing a draw, Reading winning late on and Huddersfield very late on in injury time.
