Match ratings of all United players after Newcastle 2 Bristol City 2

Newcastle 2 Bristol City 2  – Saturday 25 February 3pm

Darlow 2 – May not have been his fault for the goal – but either way, those mistakes should not happen. His head also went down after the goal – not good to see. A bad day.

Yedlin 2 – Defensively he was atrocious, and going forward he didn’t offer anything at all. Another one who let his go down and spent most of the game feeling sorry for himself.

Lascelles 2 – All over the place. Looks hesitant whenever the ball goes near him and nor does he look comfortable on the ball either. At fault for the first goal – who knows if it was offside but I’d rather see my captain rallying the troops then slagging off the linesman for his error.

Clark 6 – Didn’t do anything wrong at all.

Dummett 6 – Another solid game if you ignore the mistake for the second goal – sadly we can’t ignore the mistake!

Shelvey 8 – The only player who looks like he wants to create something. He tried to do everything today. He still looks like that kid in the playground who is 10x better than everyone else. Desperate for a player of a similar standard to him, to play next to him.

Colback 3 – Terrible again. He tries his best that’s for sure but on days like today he really is not good enough, both going forward and defensively.

Atsu 6 – Looked like he could be a potential threat when he was on the ball but he didn’t receive it enough, nor did he make himself available. A few good runs but final product was lacking.

Perez 2 – Was he even playing? I’d cash in on this guy as quickly as possible. A player with no outstanding attribute, what does he bring to the team? I’d rather play with Diame, or two big men in Murphy and Mitrovic, than have Perez on the pitch. Must work harder, must improve.

Ritchie 5 – I don’t remember the last time I saw him have a good game. Rarely does he take a player on, at the moment his performances haven’t been good enough for me. Another one who must improve over the coming weeks if we are to go up.

Mitrovic 2 – No movement. No nothing really, misses big chances – and as a centre forward myself, he should be busting a gut to get on the end of an Atsu cross in the second half. The type of chance that number 9s live for.

Diame 5 – Ineffectual when he came on – will more than likely start the game on Tuesday night behind Mitrovic – will need a performance we haven’t seen from him yet this season.

Gouffran – N/A (Not on long enough)

The fans 10/10 – The support the team received throughout the game undoubtedly pushed them on.

The referee 1/10 – Not his fault for the result of course, but by god, he was one of the worst I have ever seen. Inconsistent, didn’t read the game, and where did he only get 4 minutes from!?!

Overall, giving the fact that Huddersfield dropped points, and Brighton or Reading will drop points too it’s not a terrible day. The next three games will be huge of course. Brighton will be tense and I’d take a draw all day.

In my opinion, if there is one game that we don’t lose in the next week… It’s the Huddersfield game.
