Lee Clark deserts Newcastle loan trio and heads back to England
Exactly a year to the day when he took the job, Lee Clark is widely reported to be taking over at Bury today.
The BBC, Daily Record, Mail and STV are all saying that Kilmarnock have agreed to terminate their manager’s contract, in order to allow him to return to management in England.
Only last month, three young NUFC players heading to Kilmarnock on loan, with claims that this would be the start of a long-term relationship between the two clubs, facilitated by the former NUFC player.
Freddie Woodman, Sean Longstaff and Callum Roberts all heading north in January to join up with one-time Newcastle midfielder and coach, Lee Clark.
However, Clark is once again taking up the challenge of trying to make it in England after previously having spells at Huddersfield, Birmingham and Blackpool.
The move once again shows the respective strengths of football either side of the border, Lee Clark leaving a club who are sixth in the top Scottish division, to join Bury who are in the English third tier and currently in the relegation zone for the drop to League Two.
