The results of the Newcastle v Wolves player ratings by fans.

Newcastle United left Molineux with all three months and it was most definitely perspiration rather than inspiration that had been the key factor in delivering the points.

However, who did Newcastle supporters credit most for the win?

Ciaran Clark (8.6) was imperious and easily man of the match, with Newcastle fans rating him well ahead of partner Jamaal Lascelles (7.8).

The Newcastle Captain bouncing back to form with an excellent performance of his own.

The supporting cast sees the next highest three ratings all go to the other trio from that back five.

Karl Darlow (7.1) not really having any saves to make but instilling confidence in those in front of him by taking responsibility and coming for every ball.

Next best was DeAndre Yedlin (7.0) and he stuck at his job, as did Paul Dummett (6.6) on the other side.

As for those that struggled, well it was pretty much all players in front of that back five.

Bottom of the pile was Jack Colback (5.0), whilst midfield partners Yoan Gouffran (5.3) and Mohamed Diame  (5,5) contributed little more.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (5.9) had an ‘interesting’ 45 minutes as he scored and almost got sent off but was rarely involved in the game, Matt Ritchie (6.0) putting effort in but not really able to contribute going forward.

Jonjo Shelvey (6.5) did spark occasionally but the course of the match saw him spend most of it closer to his own goal than the opposition’s.
