It is the next round of Championship fixtures on Saturday and David Prutton has given his verdict.
The Sky Sports pundit predicting what will happen when Newcastle meet Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.
David Prutton says that there have already been ‘banana skins’ for Newcastle this season, with home defeats to other relegation candidates in Wolves and Blackburn.
He believes that Bristol City could ‘frustrate’ Newcastle but that ultimately the Magpies will win.
Prutton goes for a 2-0 win to ensure that Newcastle United will still be top after Saturday’s results.
Bristol City are on a desperate run of form and have won only two of their last 18 Championship matches, plus will be missing 21 goal (all competitions) striker Tammy Abraham.
David Prutton speaking to Sky Sports:
“I’ve seen several teams go to St James Park and cause problems.
“If Bristol City set themselves up correctly, they will be able to frustrate the league leaders.
“There’s a lot of unrest at Bristol after the defeat in midweek.
“Lee Johnson is doing his utmost to turn things around and you do root for him because of his history with the club, but also because I rate him as a coach. Young managers need time and patience.
“We have seen banana skins this season – Blackburn went up there and got a result – but I don’t feel Bristol City will follow suit. Tammy Abraham is such a big miss for them.”
David Prutton has also predicted results for other teams in the top six, though bizarrely not the Barnsley v Huddersfield game which kicks off the same time as Newcastle.
Saturday 25 February predicted results:
Leeds 2 Sheffield Wednesday 2 (12.30pm)
Newcastle 2 Bristol City 0 (3pm)
Brighton 2 Reading 1 (5.30pm)
