The results of the Newcastle v Blackburn player ratings.
A match where Newcastle dominated against poor opposition but came away with nothing – unlucky or simply not good enough.
Newcastle fans rated Mr Reliable as their man of the match, always does everything asked of him game after game, Ciaran Clark top scores with 6.5 out of 10.
Nobody else rates 6.0 or better, with Karl Darlow getting a mark of 5.7, which might even be a little generous arguably, seen as Blackburn only had one shot on target and that was into the corner he was protecting on the free-kick.
Five other players scraped 5.0 or better, with Dwight Gayle (5.3) next best, then Mohamed Diame (5.1) as well as defenders Anita (5.2) and Lascelles (5.1), with Hayden (5.0).
Right at the bottom is Hayden’s midfield partner Jack Colback (2.1), giving a poor negative display and compounding that with a needless foul that gave away the free-kick for the winner.
Other weaknesses in the team as rated by fans were Gouffran (4.3), Dummett (4.5) and Ritchie (4.8).
As for the subs, the other two weren’t on long enough to judge but Ayoze Perez (2.6) had 20 minutes on the pitch and was yet again feeble when asked to make an impact off the bench.
