Wigan 0 Newcastle 2 : Watch both quality strikes here – Video
Not the best of games for the travelling fans or the TV audience but Wigan 0 Newcastle 2 returned United to the top of the table.
Newcastle dominated the first half and after struggling to create a lot of clear chances, Mohamed Diame decided to take matters into his own hands.
Running/dribbling from the halfway line, the former Wigan player powered into the heart of the home defence and into the box, before coolly slotting home.
A sloppy second-half was brought to life late on, as only nine minutes after coming on, sub Christian Atsu lashed home from 15 yards after Gouffran cut the ball back from the left, with the Wigan defence all over the place.
Not the greatest of performances/games but three points and two very good goals to win them – watch them below.
