Sky Sports pundit predicts Newcastle v Birmingham
Sky Sports pundit, David Prutton, has made his prediction for Newcastle’s clash with Birmingham.
Prutton thinks that Newcastle will have had to ‘lick their wounds’ in the past week after the fiasco at Nottingham Forest.
Interestingly, he claims that Newcastle were still the better team on Friday with ten men AND then also with nine.
Newcastle scored their goal and continued to dominate possession after Shelvey’s dismissal but maybe a step too far, to claim that it was the same with only nine left on the pitch when Dummett was dismissed. Only yesterday, Yoan Gouffran said that it is ‘impossible’ to play with only nine players.
David Prutton points out the obvious lift that the rescinding of the red cards has given Newcastle and also points out that Birmingham also had a knockback of their own. The Brummies could have moved to within six points of United but instead were surprisingly beaten 3-0 by Barnsley at St. Andrew’s.
Summing up Saturday, Prutton thinks it ‘feels like a game where Newcastle can get back to their winning ways’, let’s hope he is right.
The player turned pundit predicting a clean sheet and a home victory, with Newcastle to win 2-0.
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton:
“There’s the added bonus of the rescinded red cards for Newcastle, against a Birmingham side who shipped three at home against Barnsley.
“Newcastle have had a tough week, where they’ve had to lick their wounds slightly, after that Forest defeat.
“Even with 10 and nine men they were the better team.
“It feels like a game where Newcastle can get back to their winning ways.”
