The date and time of the Birmingham v Newcastle match has now been confirmed.

NUFC have announced that the FA Cup third round match will take place on Saturday 7 January, with a 3pm kick-off.

To nobody’s great surprise, the match hasn’t been chosen for live TV coverage and so if you want to see the action you will have to get a ticket.

At the same time as announcing the match details, Newcastle United have also confirmed that if a replay is needed, it will take place on Wednesday 18 January at St James Park, kicking off at 7.45pm.

Newcastle United Official Announcement:

‘Newcastle United’s Third Round Emirates FA Cup tie at Birmingham City will take place on Saturday, 7th January 2017, with kick-off at 3pm.

In the event of a replay, the two sides will meet again at St. James’ Park on Wednesday, 18th January 2017, kicking off at 7.45pm.

The pair – who come face-to-face in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday – last met in the FA Cup a decade ago.

Not since the 2011/12 campaign have United progressed beyond the Third Round of the competition, while the Blues have only made it past the last 64 twice in the last four seasons.’
