Newcastle 3 Nottingham Forest 1 – Friday 30 December 2016

Always two sides to every story and interesting watching these match highlights.

Two incidents were key to the game and happened within three minutes of each other.

Matt Mills was clearly in danger of a yellow card for the foul on Ayoze Perez and got one.

As for the second yellow? It is one of those where it isn’t an incident where a player is going to be seriously injured, or denying a goalscoring opportunity – but it is just so pathetic/stupid when he rams the balls into Dwight Gayle’s stomach, embarrassing not dangerous behaviour – especially when he is Forest Captain!

As for the second key moment, that was three minutes later when Dwight Gayle harried the defender when the ball was in the air, then hooked the ball in from a tight angle. A brilliant finish but Forest fans will quite rightly be wondering what the defender, and especially the keeper were doing…
