Bad news for Newcastle United members on Blackburn away tickets

On Tuesday morning Newcastle United revealed that Blackburn away tickets were close to selling out and now, on Wednesday night, they are…sold out.

Yesterday’s update said that ‘over 5,000’ had been sold but now the full lot have gone.

Tickets were due to go on sale to Newcastle United members in six days time (see below) but with a month still to go to the game, they are out of luck, with season tickets holders taking them all.

Newcastle fans were allocated the entire Darwen Road End, with Blackburn moving some of their own season ticket holders to accommodate as many away supporters as possible.

This is Newcastle’s biggest away allocation of the season and whilst various websites show the capacity of the Darwen Road End as 8,000, it turns out that Newcastle’s allocation was ‘only’ 6,850 according to NUFC’s update on Wednesday night.

Official Newcastle United announcement:

Tickets for Newcastle’s Sky Bet Championship game at Blackburn Rovers are due to go on sale to Members next week.

United travel to Ewood Park on Monday, 2nd January 2017 and Rafa Benitez’s side will be looking to make up for their 1-0 defeat to Rovers at the end of last month. Seats initially went on sale to all season ticket holders and more than 5,000 have already been sold.

They are due to go on sale to Members at 10am on Tuesday, 13th December, subject to availability.

Ticket prices are £30 for adults, £22 for seniors (65 and above) and 18-to-21-year-olds, and £12 for juniors (17 and under).

Any supporter purchasing at the incorrect age band risks non entry on matchday as upgrading at the visiting club is not necessarily permitted on the day.

Age bands away from home vary on a game-by-game basis and do not necessarily mirror your age band held at Newcastle United. It is essential that the correct age band is selected at the time of purchase to prevent any disappointment on the day at the visiting club.

As with last season, in order to be sure of sitting together season ticket holders and Members must be registered in an away travel group before purchasing tickets (maximum of ten persons per one group).

All youngsters under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
