Moussa Sissoko comedy gold as Spurs fans (even Gary Lineker) comment after Leverkusen

Surely this was everything that Moussa Sissoko had ever dreamed of?

After spending 95% of his time at Newcastle telling us all how Tyneside could never satisfy his ambitions and how he needed to be playing on the biggest football stages, with regular football in the Champions League and competing for trophies.

So Wednesday 3 November 2016 saw Moussa Sissoko lining up at Wembley, in front of 85,000 people, in a crucial Champions League match for Tottenham against Bayer Leverkusen.

Spurs supporters had already began to express their ‘doubts’ about the £30m superstar that they had rescued from his Newcastle United nightmare.

More than one or two Tottenham fans wondering if maybe what those Geordies had been saying, had really been close to the truth, rather than just bitter Newcastle fans losing their ‘best’ player…

Even during last night’s match, Gary Lineker was moved to come out with ‘Sissoko? Explain?’.

Well Gary, Newcastle fans were more than happy to explain in the summer but yourself and the Spurs fans weren’t listening.

We visited one of the top message boards for Spurs fans, to see what their supporters are now saying about ‘Le Sulk'”

‘Moussa Sissoko has a few bad games and everyone is going nuts. Janssen does the same but everyone here is saying how great his play is.’

‘Whoa. Jansen puts in a shift, has never pleaded to be signed by woolwich & offers far more to our shape & style of play. Can you spot the difference yet?’

‘Janssen is nowhere as bad as this steaming turd of a so called footballer.

He agitated for his big money move, he got it and he’s done nothing to justify it. There is a reason why he sat on the shelf for so long.’

‘We got mugged really bad.’

‘I am always patient to a fault with out players even to the point where I’ll trick myself into thinking that poor performances are just bad luck.

I certainly never dig out individual players but by god this guy is testing my patience.

I just don’t understand what he is supposed to be.

I know it’s early in his Spurs career and he shouldn’t be written off but it doesn’t look great does it?’

‘I really want to support him but after that show, not sure I want him to wear the shirt again, which is probably too harsh.

He can’t hide here like at toon and the next few games will really be key for Pochettino’s management skills.’

‘I’m more inclined to think the Newcastle version has turned up for us and not the all action French international from Euro 2016.’

‘£30million for a mercenary journeyman.’

‘Definitely played like a Woolwich fan tonight who’d lost a bet and had to play in a Spurs shirt.

Turns out, we lost the bet and it cost us £30,000,000.’

‘He looked very bad today and should be ashamed of his poor end-product.’

‘Sissoko…what does he do?’

‘He absolutely has looked terrible. offered absolutely nothing tonight!

Gave the ball away constantly, rarely beat his man the one shot he had was pathetic and his crossing was atrocious.

He couldn’t even do the basics right and as a 27 year old, experienced international with a few years of playing in england behind him… its not acceptable.

I’m usually very forgiving but it was ridiculous.’

‘I was dreading every time he got the ball today, as you knew he was going to fluff it, only positive from tonight is that he ain’t playing Sunday!’

‘Regardless of whether his is playing out of position or not, his passing effort so far has been atrocious. Plus Sissoko seems incapable of doing anything with the left foot.

Maybe he comes good but the early signs equate to a Newcastle bamboozle job.’

‘I’ll go for Moussa “I’d rather have Jermaine Jenas” Sissoko.’

‘Waste of space.’

‘Shall we start a petition for the FA to increase his ban?’

‘Total garbage this player, and a known quantity from the same league so absolutely indefensible spending even half what we did on him.’

‘Wasn’t the best performance.’
