Gallowgate Flags have asked Newcastle supporters to help them take a third big step.

Already 532 Newcastle fans have donated cash to fund the initiatives so far at St James Park.

Pre-match flag displays started early in the season as supporters took it into their own hands when it came to helping to boost the atmosphere at NUFC home matches.

The second move saw more money raised to pay for 12 large ‘Legends’ flags, these were then paraded before the win over Cardiff on Saturday 5 November.

Now, Monday morning sees Gallowgate Flags appeal for your help in funding even bigger ‘surfer’ flags, they say they ‘haven’t got close to what we need’ and urgently need Newcastle fans’ help in making this third, and biggest so far, step happen.

Gallowgate Flags via Twitter:

“We’re still fundraising for surfer flags & haven’t got close to what we need  – please donate.”

If you would like to add your assistance to the 532 who have already financially contributed to the various flags initiatives, go to their online ‘Go Fund Me’ page HERE.

Here is a bit more information from Gallowgate Flags as to who they are, just in case you weren’t up to speed:

‘We are a group of season ticket holders from the Strawberry Corner looking to build on the positivity from the appointment of Rafa Benitez as Newcastle United manager.

Our sole aim is to improve the atmosphere at St James’ Park through positive support and visual displays to aid the team.

We’re normal, match going fans, like you.  We’ve established a positive relationship with NUFC and are grateful for their understanding and support.

We’re raising money to play for the flag designs and will continue to do so all season.  The money raised will also go to the costs of the website we created.

We aim to communicate with fans as much as we can to help choose flag design and various displays we have planned.

We’re massively grateful to anyone who can pledge what they can – the results will be spectacular.

Come on United.’
