Hat-trick for young star and two for Danish starlet in Newcastle 5 Hartlepool 1

Friday afternoon saw Sean Longstaff grab a hat-trick in today’s Newcastle 5 Hartlepool 1 match at Little Benton.

The Central League Cup game saw Newcastle’s young stars dominate the opposition from down the road, with Longstaff giving United a 3-1 lead in the opening 66 minutes.

With only two wins in their nine games so far this season, the Newcastle reserves went ahead in 22 minutes through Longstaff, only for Hartlepool to equalise minutes later.

Two goals in six second half minutes put Newcastle back in control, with Sean Longstaff striking in both the 60th and 66th minutes.

The last 10 minutes and it was summer signing Elias Fritjof Sorensen who took centre stage, scoring his first goals for the club in the 81st and 88th minutes, the second one after Sean Longstaff passed over the chance of scoring his fourth, instead unselfishly laying it on a plate for Sorensen to score his seconds Newcastle’s fifth.
