A real debut to remember for Freddie Woodman as a clean sheet for the England Under 21s helped seal a place in next year’s European Championships finals.

The Newcastle keeper showed no nerves as he made the step up.

England were the dominant team but Freddie Woodman coolly handled anything that Kazakhstan threw at him.

A goal in the sixth minute from Demarai Gray, combined with the clean sheet, means England qualify for the Under 21s Euros with a game still to play.

Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden was on the bench but stayed there for the duration.
