Mo Farah has made history, becoming the first to win the Great North Run three years in a row.
As the sun beat down on Tyneside on Sunday morning, the multiple Olympic champion showed his class to pull clear of the field and win comfortably.
Ever the showman, Mo Farah even had time to give an extra little something to the Newcastle United fans watching on.
As he raced to the finishing line, Great Britain’s greatest ever Olympian pretended to smash an imaginary football into the back of the net and then gave a one-handed Alan Shearer goal salute (watch it below).
Afterwards, Mo Farah said:
“That celebration was for Alan Shearer.
“He is a legend and I thought why not give something back to the crowd, there’s a lot of Geordies here.”
