A list of the top 20 best supported clubs in Europe has just been published.

StadiumDM have compiled a list of those clubs with the biggest average home attendance last season.

As well as the average home attendance, they have also given the average percentage of capacity that was sold per club.

Only 12 clubs feature above Newcastle when it comes to average attendance, the NUFC figure being 49,751.

Of this top 20, only nine of the clubs had a higher average percentage occupancy than St James Park.

The above figures were achieved despite Reading bringing only 550 supporters to St James Park and Brighton only filling around half of the 3,200 capacity away end.
