The Newcastle v Derby player ratings as voted by United fans.

Newcastle’s players made it five wins in a row and four clean sheets on the bounce.

…but what did the Newcastle fans make of each player on the pitch?

Your man of the match, scorer of a blinding volley from a corner, and the ultimate comeback man this season – with 8.0 out of 10 in our interactive player ratings – step forward Yoan Gouffran.

Next up we had four other players who received 7.0 or better.

Jonjo Shelvey made both goals with excellent crosses and picked up 7.4, whilst a solid defensive display saw a trio of defenders also picked as next best after Gouffran.

Centre-backs Mbemba and Lascelles both received 7.5, with Vurnon Anita just behind on 7.4.

The Dutchman is making a real go of fighting off competition from Yedlin for the right-back slot, though yet again fans saw Paul Dummett (6.3) as the weakest link and surely under threat from Achraf Lazaar once he settles.

The scores reflect a team performance that was disciplined and solid, rather tha spectacular.

None of the team scored under 6.2 and Dwight Gayle received that score after battling away with little support up front.

Matt Ritchie was best of the rest in the starting eleven with 6.7 for a typically committed effort.

Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 5pm on Sunday.
