The last gasp Moussa Sissoko deal has got everybody talking.

Whilst Tottenham fans are no doubt talking up the positives, others aren’t seeing it in quite the same light.

Newcastle supporters are celebrating what they believe is the deal of the century and that is without anybody coming in (as yet) with the money banked from the wantaway ‘superstar’.

Three of Sky Sports’ pundits had plenty to say about the deal and it was a 2-1 defeat for Spurs.

Alan McInally thinking it was a ‘good buy’ for Spurs, whilst Matt le Tissier and Paul Merson saw it a little differently…

Matt le Tissier:

“They (Tottenham) will be hoping that they get the Moussa Sissoko from the European Championships, not the Sissoko of Newcastle last season, two totally different players.

“Hopefully he will be good but on that form last season, it (£30m) seems a lot of money to me.”

Paul Merson:

“I watched him at Newcastle last year, stayed out on the wing and he didn’t do anything.

“When you are (ED: Supposedly…) that good you have got to be able to do something out of the ordinary to get your team out of it as that’s what top players do. I wouldn’t have been spending my £30m on him.

“Playing in front of 50,000 Geordies…if you can’t get up for that when are you ever going to get up for playing any football match?”

Alan McInally:

“He’s a good buy and with every player now you are spending a lot of money.”
