The Newcastle team v QPR has just been named, with United having the chance to make it six wins in a row and a potential five clean sheets on the bounce.

Rafa Benitez indicated pre-match that he had changes in mind from Saturday’s win at Derby County, with some players carrying knocks and others simply to keep the team refreshed.

In the end, Rafa has made 4 changes and put out the following Newcastle team v QPR.

Newcastle starting 11:

Sels, Anita, Clark, Lascelles, Dummett, Hayden, Shelvey, Gouffran, Ritchie, Perez, Mitrovic

The indication on social media by the club that rather than his usual 4-2-3-1, Rafa has gone for a midfield four with then Perez behind Mitrovic.

Clark has come in for Mbemba, Hayden for Colback and Perez & Mitrovic replace Diame and Gayle.

Darlow, Yedlin, Hanley, Colback, Diame, Atsu, Gayle

(Compare this to the predicted Newcastle team v QPR we published earlier here)

Rafa had mentioned both Gouffran and Colback as two players carrying knocks but seemingly neither were that serious, one playing and one on the bench.

The Manager continuing to take it slowly with the later signings: Murphy and Lazaar not featuring at all and Yedlin & Atsu on the bench.
