So Moussa Sissoko, we at last say goodbye.

On signing for Tottenham, Sissoko said ‘I gave everything for the club (Newcastle)’, let’s hope he gives just as much to his new club…

After very publicly saying how he dreamed of signing for Real Madrid, or Arsenal, Moussa Sissoko goes to White Hart Lane.

A manic final few hours of the transfer window saw Everton as the only club willing to take him but widespread media reports stated that he had refused to answer his phone to them as he hoped for an alternative to come along.

It all sounds very much like these past two or three years at St James Park.

Sissoko says he is now ‘proud to be here (at Tottenham)’, I wonder if any of the Spurs fans really believe that.

Moussa Sissoko:

“I’m very happy, very proud to be here (at Tottenham).

“I am in the prime of my career and I want to play for a big team. I have the chance now with Tottenham so I’m looking forward and I hope we will do well in the Premier League and in the Champions League also.

“I’ve said a lot of times that I want to play in the Champions League so that’s one of the reasons why I came here – to have the possibility and the chance to play this year.

“I will fight every day at the training ground and then in the games and give my best for this team. I hope we will all do well together.

“I spent three and a half years there (Newcastle). I gave everything for the club but I wanted to play some big games. For that I needed to go somewhere else.”
