Mick Quinn has been getting plenty of stick from Aston Villa fans but is more than happy to give them plenty back.
Always fighting the Newcastle United corner, Quinny has declared ahead of Saturday’s match, ‘Can’t wait to shove it up them sad Villa fans when we play them’.
Aston Villa fans have seen their team win just one of their eight Championship matches and are currently in 18th place in the table, seven points behind Newcastle.
Thanks to the odd over the top behaviour by home fans when Newcastle were relegated at Villa Park back in 2009, this fixture has become bitter between the two sets of supporters.
This past week it was revealed that Newcastle had been knocked back on a request for extra tickets, despite Villa having 13,000 empty seats at their last home game and whole sections of the stadium closed off for the entire season.
Amusingly, Mick Quinn has said to the Aston Villa fans that if they showed the same passion in bothering to turn up and support their team, as they do in giving him stick, Villa would sell out their ground next Saturday!
‘Can’t wait to shove it up them sad Villa fans when we play them.’
‘If Villa fans showed as much passion giving me stick as filling their home games this season, that would Sell Out.’
Mick Quinn also couldn’t quite believe what transpired on Saturday at St James Park:
“Can’t believe I had 9 hours sleep last night.
“I had a nightmare NUFC got beat at home to Wolves, just read the paper and we did. #WTF’
