This looks a very tasty Newcastle team v Derby County

Here is my suggested Newcastle team v Derby County and a very tasty one it looks too.

After four wins in a row you wonder just what will Rafa Benitez do now?

The likes of Gayle and Mitrovic back to fitness, new signings Atsu, Lazaar, Yedlin and Murphy pushing for a game.

Whilst he could go 4-4-2, I fancy the Newcastle manager will be keen to stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 system and get the squad increasingly drilled in the way he wants them to play.

Having said that, I think Dwight Gayle will/would play very close to Daryl Murphy.

Maybe a little controversial but Murphy played the early games for Ipswich and scored v Serbia in midweek, so no doubts on fitness or confidence.

In contrast, Mitrovic didn’t look the part when he was on the pitch against Cheltenham and Ireland, so no need to throw him straight in.

I really like the look of Ritchie, Gayle and Diame in support of the centre-forward, then with Christian Atsu also available we could be looking at a potent number of attacking options.

Hayden and Shelvey seem to have the beginnings of a decent partnership and were key in the defeat of Brighton, so makes sense to leave them untouched.

Lascelles, Mbemba and the keeper will surely all play, though what about the full-backs?

Rafa suddenly has all kinds of options and whilst Lazaar may no doubt make the position his own, I fancy Jesus Gamez to get a game.

On the other side, maybe a little unfair on Vurnon Anita who has been decent but the extra pace Yedlin will supply would be a big bonus in both defence and attack.

My suggested Newcastle team v Derby County:

To create the image above, Joe Dixon used the NUFC team selector.

You can do the same by following the simple instructions HERE and then there are a number of great options where you can then also share your team via Twitter (include @nufcthemag in your tweet and we will share some of them with our 19k followers) , or you can share the selector on Facebook with friends, family and the rest of the black and white world. Alternatively, simply downloading the team image to the device you are using

When using the NUFC team selector you simply click on what team formation (4-3-3, 4-4-2 etc) you want, then click each position on the pitch and choose from the Newcastle United squad.

Go to the NUFC team selector now and choose and share your Newcastle team v Derby.

Before every match, simply go to the menu at the top of this screen and click features, then on the drop down list click NUFC Team Selector and choose your team for every match.
