I’m sitting writing this with a heart monitor on, or at least I think I should have one on…

That tonight against Norwich was like nothing else I’ve experienced at a match.

I’ve been at some rip roaring games over the years but that tonight had everything and sums this club up in 90 minutes or 96…97. I was just lost in it all at the end.

I was speechless, no voice left at all. Went through every emotion going from the damn right frustrated, to just pure ecstasy.

I’m never one to ever leave before the final whistle, regardless of how bad it gets. So many mates have texted me to say they left at 3-1 and 3-2 etc.

That is the first time in so long where St James Park was just rocking at the end. I’m a season ticket holder with my daughter 12 years old and she said when coming out of the ground, that she nearly didn’t want to come tonight.

By god she will look back and think wow, I’m glad I was there.

Just for once we dug in and never gave up and got our rewards in the end and why shouldn’t we!!!! Now can we kick on from this??? And I mean, really kick on. Great to see everyone buzzing coming out of the ground tonight.  It had been far too long since it had been that way.

This really was a good night for the club and for the fans. A long way to go granted and a lot of hard work in front of us – but games like this give you the belief that yes we can be good again in a way that it should be.

I’m not getting carried away that we can beat everyone etc but just for once it feels fantastic being black and white and proud in a way that it should feel.

Onwards and upwards, long may it continue.
