For over an hour I was quite happy, apart from both Diame and Gayle missing sitters…
Then with the Sky commentating…err coaching team, screaming for him – on comes Rudy Gestade.
Now I went to the lavvy and came back and our defence had gone to pieces.
I thought Gestade must have been armed, judging by the reaction of our defenders. Whilst Ayew suddenly turned into Lionel Messi, twisting and turning us inside out.
An offside ‘goal’, the bar hit – the warnings were there.
Deeper and deeper we dropped, increasingly giving the ball away – total control became total panic as Villa bombarded our box.
Then in typical Newcastle style they allow them to grab a late equaliser and I have seldom felt sicker, although it was obvious it was coming.
Cheick Tiote coming on seemed to totally destroy our way of playing, whilst DeAndre Yedlin going off didn’t helpm with huge holes appeared in our defence.
Dropping deep and giving the ball away, not keeping possession and panic setting in.
The Brains Trust of Ian Holloway and Steve McClaren talking absolute nonsense, it’s too much……
I am going to a dark room to brood.
