Tim Krul has agreed a one year loan deal with Ajax, the Dutch media report this morning.

De Telegraaf state that the Newcastle keeper will be with the Dutch club this season and that to enable the move to go through, Tim Krul has agreed a one year extension to his current Newcastle United contract.

This means the Dutch keeper’s contract now runs through to June 2018 and ensures Newcastle would still receive a transfer fee next summer if they decided to sell him, or of course offer him another new contract then and keep him.

Ajax have had a poor start to the season and after four games they have a total of five points, with only one win and two draws.

Tonight they face a crucial Champions League qualifier, having only drawn 1-1 at home to Rostov, Ajax face them away tonight as they attempt to qualify for the group stages and the money that comes with that.

As for Tim Krul, De Telegraaf say that their information is that Ajax hope the goalkeeper will be ready to start playing again following the international break at the start of September.
