Moussa Sissoko could be carrying a major injury today and it won’t be just the spelks in his backside from sitting on the bench against Huddersfield.

Instead it is set to be something far more severe, a seriously damaged ego.

Over in Spain, Marca are reporting that their information is that in reality, Real Madrid have never had any interest in signing Moussa Sissoko.

They say that despite the ongoing media speculation, their sources from inside the Spanish giants have confirmed that the Newcastle superstar has never been in their thoughts.

Newcastle fans had always found the use of £35m, Moussa Sissoko, and Real Madrid in the same sentence – as something very hard for their brains to compute.

Whether Marca are…on the mark, is an unknown.

However, it would help explain why Le Sulk is still hanging around Tyneside.

Only two days ago Moussa Sissoko was speaking to the BBC World Service:

“I hope Real Madrid will come for me, I’m still waiting…

“If Real Madrid are interested in you then of course you will be happy, but right now I am still a Newcastle player.

“I spent three and a half years here. I gave everything for this club and I want to play some big games. For that I need to go somewhere else.

“I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League. That is why I said I want to leave this year.

“I have spent a lot of time here and now it’s time to look forward. The fans need to understand my situation, I hope they will and that everything will be OK.”
