Rafa Benitez has revealed that he met up with Newcastle fan and Geordie Paralympian star, Stephen Miller.
The Newcastle boss said that the ‘brilliant Paralympic athlete’ is a ‘beacon of motovation’ for Newcastle United’s players and management.
Rafa declared that it was ‘a real honour’ to have spent time with the massive Newcastle United fan.
Stephen Miller met up with Rafa Benitez as he made final preparations to leave for Rio de Janiero, where hopefully Stephen will add to his impressive medal collection.
We add our own best wishes to those offered by Rafa, and good luck to Stephen Miller in Rio.
Rafa Benitez via his own personal website:
‘I wish to share with you the pleasure given to us by a visitor we have received today who is a great example of the family that is Newcastle United FC.
On our return to work whilst preparing for Saturday’s game, Stephen Miller MBE, the brilliant Paralympic athlete – a three time world champion, visited us prior to his departure for Rio de Janeiro to take part in his sixth Paralympic Games.
His career, his great spirit of overcoming and his own successes will act as a beacon of motivation in our challenge to achieve our goals.
It was very satisfying and uplifting to share this visit with him and, at the same time, a real honour to enjoy the company of such an inspirational and brilliant athlete.
Thank you for being a great example to all.
Good luck in Rio de Janeiro Stephen. Come on Toons!’
