With 48 hours to go, the Newcastle v Huddersfield match is set to sell out shortly.

Another couple of thousand tickets have been sold this week and the club have now revealed that over 52,000 have been sold for the game, with only a couple of hundred left late on Thursday afternoon.

Huddersfield sold all 3,200 away tickets and with 35,000+ season ticket holders, it meant a great start on sales for this game.

With Reading quickly following at St James Park on Wednesday, we could see a remarkable 100,000+ fans pass through the turnstiles within a four day stretch – quite remarkable.

That Reading match could give us a decent idea of the bottom line figure for home games with a low turnout of away fans likely, although with the school holidays you would hope that might help boost the match by match sales for this game.

A positive result against Huddersfield would do no harm for the Reading crowd.

One thing that isn’t in doubt is that the Newcastle fans have shown an unbelievable reaction to the Rafa Benitez led transformation and now it is up to the players to do their bit.

Hail the Rafalution!
