The Newcastle v Cheltenham player ratings as voted by United fans.
Newcastle’s third win in a row, consecutive clean sheets, through to the next round.
What did the Newcastle supporters make of each player on the pitch?
Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 1pm on Wednesday.
Karl Darlow (7.6) didn’t do himself any harm with an assured performance and his ability to deal with balls in the air, was in stark contrast to what we have seen from a nervous Matz Sels so far.
However, pipping him for man of the match was two goal match winner Ayoze Perez (7.8).
Only two other players were rated 7.0 or above, with Jesus Games (7.0) making an assured debut for Newcastle, whilst Mohamed Diame (7.1) is improving with every game.
At the other end of the scale, Rolando Aarons (5.1) once again looked below par before he suffered yet another injury, whilst on his return, Aleksandar Mitrovic (5.9) also struggled to influence the game…until he was also injured out of the action.
Steady performances elsewhere around the team, although Jack Colback (6.1) looked very average even though he was up against League Two opponents.
