I’m sick of hearing reports from other websites, forums and the like – hearing that Newcastle fans are delusional.
Let’s get one thing straight, we have never believed that we have a divine right to win everything, or indeed anything for that matter.
All we have ever wanted is a team that competes and gives 110% every time they step on that pitch. What have we been given in the last 10 years…plus a lot of the previous seasons on top of that. Utter rubbish (most times), interspersed with odd spots of sheer entertainment such as Sunderland 5-1 etc.
Unfortunately, these days have been few and far between. Instead we have simply put up with all the rest of the frustrating days, all the time wondering what if?
Now back in the championship, others clubs’ fans want to laugh at our demise and say ‘you got what you deserved’, yes the club may have done but NOT the fans.
We have stuck at it through thin and thinner…and we are still going through it. Only now hopefully we can see a route in the near future on the way out of it.
So to all those who mock and throw jibes our way, take a long hard look in the mirror. Where do many of you lot go when the going gets tough???
Ah yes, you come back when the good times return, or the big games and cup ties come around. We will always be here – that’s what football is about.
Funny how all the smaller grounds sell out when we turn up, or sell your away tickets when you are playing at St James Park, funny that!!
And you say we are what? Delusional?
Don’t make me laugh – and before anyone comments, this is not about Mike Ashley or how the club is run, it is about FANS.
Rant over. In Rafa we trust!
