To break the seemingly never ending deadlock on his future, Newcastle have told Tottenham (and of course now everybody else…) they will accept £30m for Moussa Sissoko.

Sky Sports say that to ease the deal through, their information is that Newcastle will take payment over the course of five instalments.

Tuesday night brought news of a £16m opening offer from Spurs that was dismissed as ‘derisory’ by Newcastle United.

We might all think the £35m price tag on Moussa Sissoko was a joke…but when Tottenham have just banked £13m from Hull City for reserve midfielder Ryan Mason (eight Premier League starts last season and none this time around), the North London club were having a right laugh with the Sissoko offer.

The French media have reported that Sissoko has left the French national squad’s training base and is heading back to England to conclude a deal, though with which club, if any, remains to be seen.

The Telegraph followed up the Sky Sports instalments story with quotes from a claimed source inside Newcastle United, who alleges Spurs are just ‘messing about’ with their Moussa Sissoko interest.
