Moussa Sissoko will not be in the matchday squad against Brighton.

Rafa Benitez confirming on Friday that the midfielder won’t be part of his 18 man group on duty despite injuries this week to Rolando Aarons, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dwight Gayle.

Sky Sports report that the Newcastle boss has now indicated that he is now looking to bring in two more wingers before next week’s transfer deadline.

Rafa Benitez had made clear that he wanted to add a winger and a bid for Anthony Knockaert was turned down.

However, with Rolando Aarons now injured and missing until at least November, Rafa has hinted that he now intends to bring in two more.

As for Le Sulk…when announcing his latest France squad, Didier Deschamps stated that his understanding was that the Moussa Sissoko transfer saga would be ‘solved very soon’.

It being surely unimaginable that Sissoko will still be contracted to Newcastle United by this time next week…

Didier Deschamps Thursday 25 August:

“His (Moussa Sissoko) transfer situation should be solved very soon, he has always been an important player for us.”
