Fulham and live on Sky Sports – cause for optimism?

Sky and London? Of course not!

Newcastle United botched it up, another ‘Look at me, no penalty’ referee and well, you know the rest.

We were dreadful, especially in terms of lacking width. Gayle didn’t have any service and the team looked jet lagged slow, disjointed and lacking ideas.

However, the major issue unaddressed and fully exploited was at left-back.

Paul Dummett lacks pace and was run at ceaselessly by players who had the legs on him, add to that he is awfully injury prone and his inclusion asks more than it solves.

So why wasn’t our former La Liga star played there? He is comfortable and has played there before.

I was in The Tyneside Club in Norfolk on holiday and had a horrid feeling of deja vu, a recurring vision of crap, and that wasn’t even Steve ‘nothing to do with me’ McClaren.

Fulham saw we weren’t at it and grew in confidence.

Hopefully a kick in the proverbials to wake us up, although it may be that we have to be patient as a lot of new faces to bed in.

Rafa has a lot of thinking to do.
